Improvisation for Life Skills & Communication
(plus a laugh or two)!
Welcome to our uniquely-crafted 6-week improv class designed to enhance your everyday life skills while having a ton of fun. We are not your typical improvisation program; we are focused off-stage and in real life. Our classes are designed to build self-confidence, cultivate effective communication skills, strengthen trust, and invite connections with genuine people you'd never meet elsewhere.
Our approach draws from both the original foundation of improv exercises mixed with the new innovations born through the craziness of the pandemic. They all come together to create an experience that's dynamic, engaging, and full of surprises. While comedy springs up naturally in this environment, laughter is merely a welcomed side effect of our sessions – our ultimate goal lies in personal growth for all participants.
Each 2.5-hour weekly session invites you to explore a different aspect of yourself while working harmoniously within a group setting. To join us on this enlightening journey, all you need is an open mind; everything else will organically fall into place, no matter how experienced or new you are to improv.
From recent college grads looking for an enjoyable way to hone their creative thinking to older adults seeking a fun, safe space for meeting new people - we've designed our classes with a broad spectrum of people in mind, aged 21 and above.
Be it in enhancing professional relationships through fine-tuned communication or adding lightheartedness to personal gatherings, the core skills developed here have broad applicability that students can carry offstage and out into the real world.
Classes run on Wednesdays from September 20 - October 25, 2023, at Mom's Basement Theatre, from 6:30 PM - 9:00 PM.
